Milestones...

"Life is a box of chocolates." And the stages through which it makes one go are amazing. One joins a reputed B-school to pursue his interests in life. It sure would bring along its own additional perks... But then that really is just one aspect of it... He enjoys life to the core, does not care much about the rational aspirations which most of his batchmates share. But his motto to join the school was not something different! 'Learning' is a broad term indeed. Often it cannot be judged in terms of number of pages read or assignments submitted or grades secured... or so he believes. His learnings come by observing people, dealing with them, and making some friends out of them. What else could learning mean in a B-school known for making best people managers? He looks at people around him, all stars in their own way, and finds some of them especially interesting. These are the ones who keep running mindlessly after a few alphabets and mathematical symbols to be secured after every 3 months and hold them as the milestones to the sole path to Nirvana! He smiles to himself sitting on the stairs of the Gymnasium... They call him impractical. That's a nice word. He has seen people handicapped with limited power of imagination use that word before to him. And he has moved ahead in life without bothering to contradict those poor souls. It's no use, they just won't understand... He smiles to himself again and sips into the tea... Sometimes he feels the need to talk and explain to these people, to show them the light, to tell them what life actually is all about and how micro a view they are having of the word 'achievements'... But then they are so different from him, it's as if they won't even understand his language...

Never mind that this is my first post on the blog which i had created to write about some of my exploits at different stages of my life. It is only apt that i start with an introduction and what else can be a better source for that than what my frends at XLRI have to say about me. Hence, let me too borrow this idea from KMC and MSK and jot down some of the testimonials which my dearest frends at XL wrote for me at this dusk of my XL life. I am thankful to all of you who ha ve been my only and i repeat only source of knowledge at XL (cos acads obviously never amused me and neither did they matter much!)

A great friend, who brings a smile on everybody's face who's near him with his go easy attitude.. He has truly shown the world that there's more to life than running after grades. Playing CS, HL, Quake was a pleasure with him. An integral member of our Robaxi gang, Kaka is the most amiable SAC member till date.. You rock! Have a great life ahead..

Arpan Kar aka Dr. Systems

The unlikely cool dude, very SPIRITed person, role model for the ultimate tension free successful life. A very friendly person to hang out with and someone who can bring a party to life without shaking a foot.

Arindam Acharya aka CHAXI

A guy who falls in love with any girl in minutes after talking to her. He is like the other extreme end of me in any sense. Came here to njoy and didnt leave any cup unturned in the matter of "nashabandi". This underground negotiator of Self Appreciation Council on campus is known for his "postponement skills" of classes and assignments. Will be one of my best roomies of all times :) Roomieeeee aka M Satya Kalyan! Macha diye hain bhai hum... I still remember the night before first PRAY ppt @ XL...and the golden words at 5 AM: "ab to bana hi leta hoon"... This person can do every thing possible in universe to get deadlines extended...the quote: "Deadlines amuse me" is made for him only... We used to make a deadly baddi pair until he got busy with SAC...remember: its not a committee but a council... Best Luck!!! Meetesh Jha aka Shaadi shuda Krish rocks!!! was wid me in infy blore..one of my first frnds at XL..n my future colleague at DBOI..somehow he refuses to go away frm my life :-)..an ultra chill n ultra cool person..is least bothered abt acads n anythin remotely connected 2 acads..all said he is a gr8 frnd 2 hav..i am sure i wud b seein a lot more of him in the comin yrs..anyway lez hope thr r really hot chicks in DBOI!! It is said that he heard it directly from God's mouth to select PMIR as his career. And he achieved moksha when touched the grounds of XLRI in pursuance of the gospel. Undisputed CR of our batch who has a fan following even among the godly profs. A person who makes politics and diplomacy more charming by sticking to his belief in innocence. So here is a certified pagal who is on his resolve to prove this world his mettle through his OB skills, i firmly salute you dear and wish you the very best to conquer the corporate world by touching sky high successes !!

Rakaa aka Rakesh Ranjan

A great guy! Truly amazing in every aspect of life. Intelligent & Smart, takes life from a different perspective altogether. A perspective that very few can dare to hold! I wish him all the success in his Life!!! Rock On!:)

Bhai aka Ajay Sonkar

A fun guy to know who is quite knowledgeable about his own self.One who knows his strengths and can play on them to work his way through any situation.A person who gauges others almost immediately and is mostly correct about them.I have rarely learnt something from others but he is one who has taught me at times.We have had some great time together and am sure we will continue to have some more.Ab jaldi se ladki doodh kundli mila aur saadi kar naukri to mil gayi go for chokri now.

Mukund Madhav aka Bade Bhaiya/Mickey

He is one lively fellow with a smile on his face at all times. The best CR when it comes to getting deadlines postponed, he has a knack of getting his way with all the profs. He came to XL with a single point agenda of having fun and fulfilled it to the hilt. May your life be as joyous as you wish :)

Wadhwa aka Akshay Wadhwa

Dada ka attitude bilkul bindass hai. He is a man who follows his heart. He has great intellectual capacity which he has rightly saved for the bigger issues of the future...Xl didn't get to see his brain in action...but was fortunate enough to witness the strength of his liver.. All the very best for a great life ahead!!

Pant aka Ashish Pant

Couldn't help this one..and I am sure he's going to like it: Krishanu is like a bottle of Champagne: heady, bubbly and effervescent, with sparkling clarity (of the heart, that is..his 'jigar' and 'fefda', on the other hand, are quite messed up)..and great to have around at fun times :) may the party go on!

Shefuuuu aka Shefali Khokar

I first knew you as "krishrocks" from PG. You were my very first friend at XLRI and we've had a lot of very random fun conversations! You've been one of the most chilled out people at XL - always with that big smile on your face..always nice to people - never complaining..never frowning.. I hope you get everything that you want out of life... and that you are always happy...always smiling...!! Do stay in touch!

Niru aka Niranjana Harikumar

Krishanu is one of the best seniors which you can have. Although being a member of SAC, he had got lot of responsibilities, even then he was everywhere. Always cool with no tension in the world, and even in these circumstances one of the first person to be get placed..what else i can say other than be my friend always..

Asif Zafar Khan aka Budding Cowbaxi talent

This bugger is one genuine character. Whatever he does is because he believes in it and truly wants to do it and stays away from the rest. What's more he knows what he wants and is a go getter as well. He keeps things simple, and doesn't bother himself with the "perceived popular complexities" of life with respect to anything. Of course, he is known to be I urge you to stay happy go lucky and infectious, these are traits that are hard to come by..All the best for everything in life!

Ramkey aka Ramakrishna Chandramouli

Always wearing his heart on his sleeve, Krishanu's frequent change of 'external interests' left many dazed during the 1st year. Happy and cheerful in nature, he never lets tension and worries even touch him. As our beloved CR, many of the extensions and concessions he has got from the profs. have been legendary. Wherever may destiny take you, buddy, I am sure you will rock!

Chadha saab aka Nikhil Chadha

This guy loves working with the 'grassroots'.... A brilliant tactician and negotiator, kaash yeh BM-B ka CR hota toh life mein aish hi aish.. I have never seen a more chilled out guy in my life.... Is very creative and innovative (this is what got him his job!!!) and has a knack for coming up with the right words to always convince the other guy...Is a champion at emotional warfare! And in cyber warfare too...long live NightRider and long live the friendship of Goth and Hun..Cheers Mate!!

Bhaani/Silent Assassin aka Abhay Bhaniramka

Genius, a GEM of person. He has a very unique way of gelling up with guys & gals he want to - a character who very few can have. Always Laughing and making others laugh, throwing positive upbeat mood all around. His commitment towards baddi is respectable. A very lucky fellow, he is. It was great spending my stint of XL with you dude. Wishing you good luck.......

Kejri aka Amit Kejriwal

always seen with an incessant smile to acknowledge u at whatever time of the day, he is surely a very sweet and plain hearted person...that makes him an adorable senior...tension and anxiety perhaps dont exist in his dictionary.. he takes life as it comes... hope he succeeds in all his future endaevours... :)

Sreedevi (junior cry baby)

He is more popular than all other senior SAC members. Spends most of his time on the badminton court. Wooed DBOI with his macho mustache!!

Mayukh Mitra (junior Robaxi stud)

His trademark is his Calmness in all situations....never ever becomes nervous.....and likes Organizational Psychology to the hilt....Please write some books on this subject, so that others may also get enlightened.....Best of luck for your future.......

my on-off boyfriend kitu could change my boring day into an awesome one!!wud refer to me as amby baby in his lazy sing song voice and become even more fun once drunk!!cud bring in OB in whatever he said, this man was the best CR known to me....be it any hassle, he never took tension...seeing his bindaas nature I wud often yearn to be like him!!but he is one of his kind, ever smiling and taking life in the best spirit..needless to say I adore u and wil miss u a lot!!

Known to me first thru pagalguy, then Baddy and finally SAC, this is one person who spreads kewl and stress free attitude everywhere. He has surely done things way above wat everyone percieved him to do.. Hats off. wish you all success.

Nidhi aka Nidhi Rawal (junior Punjab di kudi)

This guy is one the few who just connect to you the first time you meet. The one who will negotiate to even gods to get judgement day cancelled. I know he will do good in life basically because he never is a part of a group, coz he is a one of the few who is truly a friend to everyone on the campus. Hey undercover!!! Sid The Kid aka Siddharth Chatterjee (junior SAC.. ahem!)

U’re one of my favourite people in class! I’m simply in love with ur bindaas attitude, having u as our CR was great fun! Be it any submission or test, u never failed to get it postponed.:) U made all the classes fun with ur imaginative & interesting CP!:) It is always so easy to engage in a conversation with u & u never fail to make me feel good! Saala Bangali! I bet there has never been a single moment in his life when he has been worried or anxious. “Why drink and drive when you can drink AND smoke and fly?” is probably his motto in life. He’s one of those types who live more for their friends than for themselves – in fact, he’ll frax on his own projects and work on his friends’.
